DHAKA: Awami League’s general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader has expressed irritation over capturing Selfie with him.

He stopped some men to take Selfie with him when they tried to do it during the minister’s visit at Dhaka-Mawa road at Nimtoli in the city on Friday morning (June 09). The minister said, “No Selfie”.

Selfie is a self-portrait photograph typically taken with a digital camera or camera phone held in the hand or supported by a Selfie stick.

Now-a-days it is very common that when a public figure goes for outing or for attending different indoor and outdoor programs, Selfi-loving folks very often flock to him/her requesting a selfie.

The selfi-enthusiasts especially are eager to post the photos in social media platforms showing the self with the beloved person taken in a single frame; to share with the friends or to just keeping as a capture of memoirs.

However, in past times, Obaidul Quader wasn’t seen denying the fans to capture a selfie with him.

He usually used to respond the urges from the selfi-seekers including leaders, activists and supports of the party, and the visitors or attendees in different events.

But on Friday, the minister was seen expressing irritation while some selfi aficionados were intending to capture selfies with him.

He asked them not to capture selfie.

However, in Facebook, Quader usually shares his daily event photos frequently.

Recently, some selfies along with some political figures, cricketers and media personalities sparked huge criticism in social media, in connection with the Banani rape incident.

Following some incidents, celebrities from different arenas are also maintaining apprehension regarding taking selfie with unknown peoples.
