TANGAIL: At least 29 leaders and workers of the Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami, were arrested in Tangail on Sunday night (June 11).

Police arrested the Shibir men after conducting a raid at a mass at Santosh area in Tangail district town.

Police claimed that they also recovered 12 bombs and huge numbers of jihadi books from the mass.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tangail police station Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan told Banglanews that the Shibir men gathered in the mass for sabotage acts.
