DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that the countrymen are now passing through a crisis moment.
Speaking at an Iftar party on Thursday (June 15), she said that the country faces famine when Awami League comes to the power. “The people did not forget the Bangladesh famine of 1974. The condition of the country is not good in the present time too,” she said.
Dhaka south city unit of the BNP arranged the Iftar party at Institution of Engineers Bangladesh in the city.
President of the unit Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel chaired the function while general secretary Abul Bashar moderated it.
BNP’s standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and other senior leaders of the party also attended the function, among others.
Khaleda Zia said that the government is now elected government by the people. So, it doesn’t understand the sufferings of the people.
