Khaleda wants topple of government for missing men’s return

DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that the disappeared leaders and activists of her party will return after topple of the current oppressive government.

She said this while speaking at an Iftar party at a hotel in the city on Tuesday (June 20).

The BNP chief hosted the Iftar party for relatives of the BNP leader and activists, who had been forcibly disappeared allegedly by the members of law enforcers and security agencies during the anti-government movement.

Khaleda Zia said that the leaders and activists, who were killed and disappeared by the current government, were dedicated to the party. The missing leaders will come back if the oppressive government steps down, she said.    

Before taking the Iftar, the BNP chief enquired about the family members of the missing BNP men.

Wives, children and other members of families of about 50 missing leaders and activists of the BNP joined the Iftar party of Khaleda Zia.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the party standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and former MP and missing BNP leader M Ilias Ali’s wife Tahsina Rushdir Luna attended, among others.
