DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir left for Australia for celebrating eid there with his daughter and son-in-law.

Fakhrul and his wife Rahat Ara Begum left Dhaka at around 01:05 am Wednesday in a Singapore Airlines flight.

The BNP leader will celebrate eid with his Australia expatriate daughter Mirza Shamaruh, son-in-law and the grandchild for the first time in Australia.

However, Fakhrul is expected to return to the country after Eid ul-Fitr.
