DINAJPUR: At least 15 people were injured in clashes between two groups of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the ruling Awami League, in Dinajpur on Tuesday (June 27).

The incident of the infighting took place over formation of a union unit committee of the BCL at Kaharoe upazila in the district.

The BCL men engaged in clashes at Bhatgoan village and Hosenpur village at Sundarpur union for several times from morning to noon.

Later, police took the situation under control. Police were deployed in the area to avert further incident.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kaharole police station Md Mansur Ali Sarker confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.
