DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused the government of staging drama over the kidnapping of poet and columnist Farhad Mazhar.
Mirza Fakhrul on Wednesday (July 05) said that the government has created the Farhad Mazhar issue to hide its failure in the legal battle about the 16th amendment to the Constitution.
The BNP leader was talking to journalists at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the city after his return from Australia.
Mirza Fakhrul said that Farhad Mazhar is a poet. He is a patriotic writer. He was abducted after the verdict of the Supreme Court over 16th amendment. It is nothing but drama, said the BNP leader.
