4 'JMB men' held in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: Police in an overnight drive detained four suspected members of banned extremist outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Rajshahi’s Durgapur and Puthia upazilas on early Friday (July 7).

The detainees are identified as Aslam, 37, Mohammad Ali, 30, Babu Huzur, 28, son of one Joad Ali from Joykrishnapur village of Durgapur upazila and Abul Kashem Rokon, son of one Abdul Hamid of Puthia upazila.

Rajshahi additional superintendent of Police Sumit Chowdhury told Banglanews that said police conducted the drives in the areas and detained them with some sharp weapons and Jihadi books from their possession. A case filing in this connection is underway.
