DHAKA: Senior Awami League leader and Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said there is no alternative for BNP and its allies but to participate in the next general elections.

The minister was addressing at the launching ceremony of a furniture outlet in the city’s Banani Saturday (July 8).

Tofail said that the 11th national parliamentary elections will be held anytime in the 90 days prior to the current government’s expiry on January 29, 2019.

“BNP and the allies don’t have any option rather than joining the election. BNP has to suffer if it creates anarchy and avoids the elections.” 

The minister further said that political stability is a must for the country’s development as it gets obstructed due to anarchy.
