DHAKA: Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud demanded the arrest of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia as soon as she lands at Dhaka airport.
 
He came up with the demand at a human chain organized by the Bangladesh Independence Council on Sunday afternoon (July 23) in front of the National Press Club.

Dr. Mahmud said that, “We have been informed that Khaleda Zia, after reaching London, has contacted various terrorist and militant groups to conspire ahead of the general election.”
 
“Khaleda did not appear before court for hearing in cases filed against her defying court order. So I am urging the government to capture Khaleda as soon as she arrives from London.”

He further said BNP now only has to offer the politics of conspiracy. They have gone far away from people and Khaleda knows that people will reject her party in polls. ,”

Mentioning Khaleda as a burden to her own party, Mahmud asked the followers of BNP to exclude her from politics in order to save the party from extinction.
