BARISAL: The BNP men locked into roughhousing at a rally in Barisal on Wednesday (July 26) in presence of the party’s central leaders, including BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Barisal south district unit of the BNP arranged the rally at Ashini Kumar Hall in Barisal city on the occasion of inaugurating the member collection program of the party.

Mirza Fakhrul attended the rally as the chief guest, while the party’s vice-chairman Selima Rahman, joint secretary general Mujibur Rahman Sarwar and several other central leaders attended there as the special guests.

The roughhousing took place at about 12:00 pm when district Juba Dal president HM Taslim Uddin wanted to moderate the function, but Babuganj upazila BNP general secretary Ohidul Islam Prince barred him.

The situation came under control after the senior leaders intervened.
