DHAKA: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has commented that the ruling Awami League’s misrule has been reflected in the tragic consequence of Jakia Akhter Rupa who was killed following gang-rape.   

He made the comment at a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the city on Tuesday (September 05).

Jatiyatabaid Mahila Dal, the woman body of the BNP, formed the human chain protesting the gang-rape and death of Rupa and harassment on women across the country.

Senior vice president of the Mahila Dal Jeba Ahmed Khan presided over the program, while Mahila Dal general secretary Sultana Ahmed also spoke it, among others.  

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the government is killing, abducting and harassing the citizens by using the state-machinery, while the government is also sheltering the killers, rapists and other criminals. Rupa is one of the victims of government misrule and misdeeds, he added.  

He compared the behavior of Bangladesh government with Myanmar government.  

The BNP leader expressed concerned over Rohingya genocide. He criticized the government for its rule on Rohingya issue.

He called upon the international community to come forward to save the Rohingyas from barbaric attack of Myanmar.
