BARISAL: Denouncing BNP’s remark that the government failed diplomatically in Rohingya issue, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon warned everyone by saying that BNP and Jamaat may collect political gain from the crisis.
Menon was addressing a workers’ rally of Bangladesh Workers’ Party in Barisal town Friday (September 15).
Five lakhs of Rohingyas entered Bangladesh earlier in 1978, 1992, 2012 and 2016. The number is 3,80,000 this time, he said.
Whereas the whole world hailed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she provided shelters for the Rohingya refugees, but BNP said that the government earned diplomatic defeat, criticized the minister.
Urging everyone to remain alert, the minister said, “National and International game are being played in Rakhain issue; and we have to remain careful on it. Bangladesh has fallen into a crisis. BNP and Jamaat will be trying to take advantage politically.”
Bangladesh Workers Party Barisal district unit President Professor Nazrul Haque Nilu presided over the program attended by the party’s local leaders and activists.
