DHAKA: BNP vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has alleged that there is no democracy in the country. He asked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to restore the democracy.
The BNP leader was speaking at a human chain formed in front of the National Press Club in the city on Sunday (October 08).
Ghure Darao Bangladesh, a pro-BNP organization, arranged the program protesting atrocities of Myanmar in Rakhine State and demanding repatriating of Rohingya refugees.
BNP central leaders Abdus Salam Azad, Kader Gani Chowdhury and Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah also spoke at the program, among others, with president of the organization Kader Siddique in the chair.
Shamsuzzaman Dudu came down heavily on the government for the price hike of rice and other commodities. He said that the price of essentials is now out of people’s purchasing ability.
