DHAKA: Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the party’s general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader have expressed deep shock at the death Sheila Islam.

They expressed the shock in the separate condolence messages issued on Monday (October 23).

Earlier on the day, Sheila Islam, wife of Awami League presidium member and public administration minister Syed Ashraful Islam, died at a hospital in London.

She breathed her last at the UCLH University College Hospital in London at about 8:00 am (Bangladesh time). Sheila Islam had been suffering from cancer.

In the condolence messages, Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader wished eternal peace of Shiela Islam. They also conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
