DHAKA UNIVERSITY: A chase and counter chase between the activists of Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) unit took place at about 8:00 am on Saturday (October 28).

According to the eyewitnesses, some activists of BUET Chhatra League confined a student of Zahurul Haque Hall of Dhaka University named Imran, who is also a BCL activist, on the BUET campus on Friday afternoon (October 27).

On information, DU Zahurul Hall students along with some BCL men rescued Imran in the night.

At the time, a chase-counter chase occurred between the BCL men of the two university units. A BCL activist of BUET unit named Sadman, was injured and he was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Later, the two BCL men of the two university units engaged in chase-counter chase on Saturday morning.

According to the source, the incident took place following a brawl over use of marijuana by the supporters of Zahurul Hall unit BCL president Asif Talukder and the BUET BCL activists. The brawl took place on Thursday (October 26).
