FENI: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade again came under attack also in Feni on Tuesday (October 31) on her return to Dhaka.
The party leaders alleged that their chief’s caravan again came under terrorist attacks and bombings at Mohipal area in Feni. The incident of repeated attack took place at about 04:45 pm.
The BNP men became agitated following the incident and torched at least three buses on the spot.
Earlier on Saturday (October 28), similar attack was carried out on Khaleda Zia’s caravan at Fatehpur area of Feni on her way to Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar.
Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for Cox’s Bazar on October 28 to visit Rohingya refugees who have taken shelter at the refugee camps after fleeing widespread violence in Rakhine State of Myanmar.
She reached Ukhia upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Monday (October 30), taking breaks and staying overnights in Feni, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar district town.
Khaleda Zia distributed relief materials among the Rohingya refugees in the refugee camps.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the party’s standing committee members Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, vice chairmen Abdullah-al-Noman, Cox’s Bazar district BNP president Shahjahan Chowdhury and other leaders of the party were accompanying the BNP chief.
After distributing relief materials, the BNP chief returned to Chittagong city again and stayed overnight in the port city.
Wrapping up her four-day tour, she left the port city for Dhaka in the afternoon.
