Consensus for CG or mass upsurge: Moudud

DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed has said that all the political parties, including ruling Awami League, have to come in talks table. Otherwise, the country will witness mass upsurge, he commented.

He said these while speaking at a rally at the National Press Club in the city on Saturday (November 04). Jatiya Gonotantrik Andolan, a pro-BNP organization, arranged the rally marking its fourth founding anniversary.

BNP vice chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu and presidium member of Jatiya Party (Zafor) Ahsan Habib Linkon also spoke at the function, among others, with president of Jatiya Gonotantrik Andolan Ameer Hossain Badshah in the chair.

Moudud Ahmed said that the next elections must be held under caretaker government system. The Parliament has to be dissolved before 90 days of the elections and army will be deployed during the elections, he added.

He said that the BNP and its chief Khaleda Zia will reach the people. BNP will forge movement for the changing, as the countrymen want change. The government won’t stop the BNP through attack and harassment, he said.

The BNP leader further said that his party will join the next polls and it will perform best in the polls.
