DHAKA: The Election Commission has primarily decided to hold polls in four municipalities and at least 90 other institutions of the local government bodies on December 28.  

The EC sources said that the polls schedule may be announced on November 12.

According to the sources, polls in the four municipalities- Bakshiganj of Jamalpur, Alfadnaga of Faridpur, Benapole of Jessore and Banpara of Natore- will be held on that day, while by-polls for vice chairman post in Sherpur upazila of Bogra will also be held on the same day.

Polls in 91 Union Parisahds (Ups) will also be held on that day.

Senior assistant secretary of the EC (management section) Farhad Hossain told Banglanews that the polls in the municipalities and the UPs could not be held due flood and some other complexes. Now, the polls will be held there now.
