BHOLA: Awami League senior leader and commerce minister Tofail Ahmed rules out any possibility of talks with BNP over the next general elections.
The ruling party leader at a function in Bhola on Saturday (November 11) said that the next Parliamentary elections will be held as per the constitution. The polls will be held under the incumbent government. So there is no possibility of talks with the BNP over the election-time government issue, he said.
Tofail Ahmed was speaking at the function after inaugurating the dredging work of Sripur-Bhola-Gangapur river route on the premises of Bheduria Ferry Ghat in Bhola in the morning.
He said that the 11th Parliamentary polls will be held any day before 90 days of January 29 in 2019. The BNP must come in the polls. Otherwise, they will be loser again.
Chairman of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Comrade Mozammel Haque presided over the function, while shipping minister Shajahan Khan, chairman of Bhola Zila Parishad Abdul Momin Tulu and chairman of Bhola Sadar Upazila Parishad Mosharef Hossain also spoke at the function, among others.
