DHAKA: Expressing confidence on party leaders, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said his party will definitely win the next parliamentary election.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remark to reporters in a press conference after a joint meeting in party’s political office in Dhanmondi on Friday (Dec 1). 

He said, “We are confident because we have actually contributed to the development of the country and we will be victorious.”

Mentioning that countrymen have faith on Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina’s honesty, skill and ability to steer the country, Quader said AL government should come to power again.

On the issue of arrest warrant against BNP chief Khaleda Zia, he said the allegation that government influenced the judiciary to issue arrest warrant against Khaleda is hilarious. It is nothing like that. Khaleda is facing trial in two cases. Arrest warrant was issued because she failed to appear before court for hearing.
