DHAKA: Awami League leader and former minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has said that the abolished caretaker government system won’t be restored. The next general elections will be held under the Election Commission (EC).

The AL leader made the comment while speaking at a human chain program arranged in front of the national Press Club in the city on Sunday (December 03).

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, a pro-Awami League organization, organized the human chain program.

Vice president of the organization Asrabul Hasan Asul presided over the program, while Awami League central leader Sujit Roy Nandi, general secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Falguni Hamid, vice presidents Dilara Yeasmin and Abdul Matin Bhuiyan also spoke it, among others.

Dr Hasan Mahmud called upon the BNP to take part in the next general elections under the EC.
