DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was served a legal notice, accusing her of making defaming remarks against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir disclosed the matter in a press conference at BNP party office in Nayapaltan on Wednesday (December 20).
The prime minister made the remarks defaming Khaleda Zia while addressing a press conference at Ganabhaban on December 7, said the notice.
It was said in the notice that the prime minister made an immoral, slandering and deceitful statement on Khaleda Zia while she was accusing the BNP chairperson of possessing wealth in Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh Hasina was asked to apologize for her comments otherwise she has to face legal action.
Khaleda’s lawyer Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon sent the notice to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Tuesday (December 19), said Fakhrul.
