RANGPUR: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad said that the Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) election is an occasion where the Election Commission (EC) can prove their competency.

“EC should prove that they have the efficiency to arrange a fair, impartial and flawless national polls. The overall impression earned in this polls will play a role in the upcoming national election”, Ershad said.  

The former president was talking to the reporters after casting his vote for RCC polls, at a polling center in Rangpur city Thursday (December 21).

However, Ershad is hopeful that his party-nominated mayoral candidate Mostafizar Rahman Mostofa will confirm a landslide victory.

“I’m pleased for balloting. There is no possibility of any turmoil here. All are casting their votes peacefully.” 

LGRD State Minister Moshiur Rahman Ranga accompanied him.

However, voting underway in RCC polls which will continued till 4:00pm.
