DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested BNP executive committee member also the MD of ABN Group Syed Sadat Ahmed Saturday night (December 30), almost four months after he reportedly went missing in August.

DB (Dhaka North) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Shamsul Arefin told Banglanews that Sadat was detained from Rampura Bridge area, at around 10 at the night.

He was shown arrested in a sabotage case filed with Ramna Police Station in 2015.

Where he had been staying is being tried to reveal, added the DB AC.

However, Sadat’s wife Luna Sadat Ahmed filed an abduction case with Cantonment Police Station, on accusation that her husband was forcefully taken into a microbus by some unidentified men from the capital’s Banani on August 22.  Since then, Sadat had no contact with his family.
