DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the countdown for the Awami League government’s collapse has started from today.

He made the remark while addressing a student rally marking the founding anniversary of BNP’s student wing Bangladesh Chatra Dal (BCD) in city’s Engineering Institute on Tuesday (Jan 2).

Fakhrul said, “The AL government has turned the country subservient with deliberate plan to make it a failed state. From now on, Chatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Mahila Dal will ensure this government’s fall.”

The rally was supposed to be held at Engineering Institute auditorium, but institute authority shut the entrance. Later the gate was opened when BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia joined the rally in the afternoon.
