DHAKA: The BNP has sought permission from the Dhaka city corporation and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold a rally at Nayapaltan in the city on Friday (January 05).
The party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said this at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Wednesday (January 03).
Earlier, the party sought permission to hold the planned rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, but they did not get permission.
Rizvi Ahmed said that the government should permit the BNP for the rally as part of its democratic rights.
He, however, said that his party would hold peaceful rally on that day.
