KHAGRACHHARI: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP chief Khaleda Zia is jealous of country’s development done by the Awami League government.

He made the comment in a bilateral meeting at Ramgarh municipality auditorium after visiting Bangladesh-India Friendship Bridge over the Feni River on Wednesday (January 3).

Obaidul Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is consumed with jealousy after witnessing overall progress, including Padma Bridge and Payra Port, done by the ruling government.

He said, “BNP has blackmailed folks by saying that elections will be held under Sheikh Hasina. In actuality, elections will be held under Election Commission (EC), not under Sheikh Hasina.”

MP of Khagrachhari Kujendra Lal Tripura and Khagrachhari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rashedul Islam were also present in the meeting, among others.
