DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has said that BNP would take part in the next Parliamentary elections after realizing the key demand of a non-party government system.
He made the comment at a protest rally at the National Press Club Hall in the city on Sunday (January 7).
The Agriculturist Association of Bangladesh (AAB), a pro-BNP platform, arranged the rally protesting the police attack on agriculturist Hassan Zafir Tuhin.
BNP vice chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, chairperson’s adviser Abdus Salam and senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed also spoke at the rally with agriculturist Anwarun Nabi Majumder in the chair.
Dr Mosharraf said, “No elections will be held under Sheikh Hasina or Awami League government. AL has a genetic problem that whenever they come to power, they try to stay in power by force.”
