BCL activist killed in Sylhet

SYLHET: An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of the ruling Awami League, was killed over factional clash at Tilaghore area of Sylhet on Sunday (January 7).

The deceased was identified as Tanim Khan, 25, son of Israel Khan, hailed from Burunga area under Osmani Nagar Upazila of Sylhet. 

Tanim was a student of Sylhet Govt College and an activist of BCL at Tilaghore area.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akhter Hossain of Shahporan Police Station told Banglanews that Tanim was attacked around 8:45 pm on Sunday night by rivals of BCL.

Later, he was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, added the OC.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Muhammad Abdul Wahab told Banglanews that details will be given following investigation.
