NETROKONA: Police arrested a local BNP leader in Khaliajuri upazila of Netrokona Monday (January 22).

The arrestee, Abdur Rouf Shadhin, 48, is the president of Khaliajuri upazila unit of BNP and a former union parishad chairman.

Khaliajuri Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Hazrat Ali told Banglanews that Shadin was arrested in a case filed over looting fishes and torturing the employees of Bekhi waterfront adjacent to Panchhat area since long.

However, 48 people were accused in the case filed by one Hanif, an attendant of the waterfront, added the OC.
