DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the people of the country would resist any attempt of creating chaotic situation over the verdict on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
He said this while talking to journalists after inauguration of Third Shitalakkya Bridge at Gognagar in Narayanganj on Sunday (January 28).
MP of Narayangang-4 AKM Shamim Osman, MP of Narayanganj-5 AKM Selim Osman, deputy commissioner (DC) of Narayanganj Rabbi Mia, superintendent of police (SP) Dr Moinul Haque, district Awami League president Abdul Hye and general secretary VP Badal also attended the function, among others.
Obaidul Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said that BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alam has been issuing warning over the verdict. How does Mirza Fakhrul know the verdict as it is yet to be pronounced by the court, he asked.
The ruling party leader said that any kind of attempt will be resisted if the BNP tries to create chaos centering Khaleda Zia’s verdict. None can create unrest and chaos in the country, he added.
