DHAKA: The activists of BNP and the Chhatra League, the student wing of the ruling Awami League, have engaged in a scuffle when BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia reached Narsingdi on her way to Sylhet.  

The incident took place at about 11:30 pm in the Narsingdi district town on Monday (February 04).

The Chhatra League men brought out a march against Khaleda Zia. On the other hand, the BNP men led by the party’s central leader Khairul Kabir Khokon obstructed the ruling party men.  

Police, however, detained some BNP leaders from the spot.

Earlier in the morning, Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for Sylhet to visit the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA). She along with her party’s senior leaders left her Gulshan residence at about 9:15 am.
