DHAKA: BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is accompanied by her domestic help Fatema in the old Central Jail at Nazimuddin Road in the capital city.

The jail authorities allowed Fatema to stay with Khaleda Zia inside the jail as the medical assistant following plea of the BNP chief’s lawyers.

BNP’s media wing member Shyrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to the Banglanews in the evening on Thursday (February 08).

Earlier in the afternoon, the Special Court-5 of Dhaka, the makeshift court set up on the premises of Madrasa-e-Alia Dhaka in city’s Bakshibazar area, awarded five years imprisonment to Khaleda Zia in much-talked-about Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

Just after the verdict, the BNP chief was landed in the jail. She was accompanied by her domestic help Fatema when she was taken to the central jail at about 3:00 pm.

Later, lawyers of the BNP chief filed plea to the jail authorities seeking to allow Fatema as domestic help. In the application, they said that Khaleda Zia needs help for movement
