DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday (February 13) sent BNP vice chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu was to jail in a case filed over destruction and attack on police during Khaleda verdict.
Judge of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court AKM Moinuddin Siddique passed the order after Ramna police station SI and probe officer of the case Sudwip Kumar presented him before court and appealed for Dudu’s jail till the investigation ends.
On the other hand, Dudu’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia appealed for his bail in court. After hearing court sent Dudu to jail denying bail.
BNP’s vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has been picked up from Matsya Bhaban area in Dhaka on Monday.
Police said, over thousands of BNP leaders-activists blocked road, vandalized vehicles and carried out attack on police during Khaleda’s verdict on Feb 8.
Later at that night, Ramna police filed a case accusing 179 BNP men.
