Extra time goal blitz sees Real Madrid advance

Brazilian teenage sensation Endrick was the man of the moment for Real Madrid, coming off the bench to score twice in extra time and help his side win 5-2 at home to Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey's round of 16.

The match itself had looked like it would be a routine win for the hosts, with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior finding the net either side of half-time to put them in a strong position.

But things went wrong for Carlo Ancelotti's side inside the final 10 minutes of the 90, starting with Jonathan Bamba's 83rd-minute goal to get Celta back in it.

Pablo Duran had initially profited from an Eduardo Camavinga error in possession, before squaring it for Bamba to strike and make things interesting.

The visitor then forced extra time through a stoppage-time penalty given away by Raul Asencio for a mistimed tackle on Bamba. Marcos Alonso beat Andriy Lunin from the spot to set up another half-hour.

But it was in that period that Madrid began to pull away, getting back ahead through Endrick's smart swivel and shot in the 108th minute.

Federico Valverde then hammered one in from long range four minutes later before Endrick made it a rout on 119 minutes with a delightful backheel flick that nestled in the goal.
