Immigration authorities have been instructed to temporarily restrict Anamul Haque Bijoy from leaving the country due to multiple spot-fixing allegations, said a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official.
In response, the BCB’s anti-corruption unit has requested relevant government agencies to ensure that Durbar Rajshahi cricketer Anamul is barred from traveling abroad.
However, the restriction is temporary. If the anti-corruption unit’s investigation finds him innocent, the travel ban will be lifted.
Anamul, who initially captained Durbar Rajshahi before being replaced by Taskin Ahmed, is not the only player under scrutiny.
Reports indicate that at least three other Rajshahi players are also facing spot-fixing allegations.
