Tiger off-spinner Nayeem Hasan became the 93rd Test cricketer for Bangladesh as he received his Test cap from Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan and batsman-wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim before beginning of the first Test against West Indies on Thursday (Nov 22).
In December 2017, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The following month, he was named in Bangladesh's Test squad for their series against Sri Lanka, but he did not play.
He made his Twenty20 debut for Chittagong Vikings on 29 November 2017 in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Premier League.
However, the 17-year-old has replaced Khaled Ahmed in the first and opening Test against visiting West Indies, at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
