DHAKA: World largest social network website Facebook introduced a new feature that lets mobile users locate find nearby friendsm reports USAToday.

The Nearby Friends feature is optional, which will send notifications whenever a friend is near the users’ location and will help users "meet up and spend time together.", Facebook said in a statement on Thursday.

Users can tailor Nearby Friends to show information on any collection of friends they choose.

"When you see a friend visiting a place you`ve been, it`s the perfect opportunity to send a recommendation for a great restaurant," USAToday reports quoting a the site’s product manager Andrea Vaccari.

"You can also make last-minute plans to meet up with a friend who happens to be in the same place you`re headed to,"

Android-run devices and the iPhone users at USA is likely to enjoy the feature in coming weeks.
