North South University Social Services Club has organised its annual event, “Winter Clothing Drive 2024,” aimed at sharing warmth and comfort with underprivileged families in rural areas of Sreemangal.

The event started with the unwavering dedication of 250+ club members to encourage and collect donations of warm clothes and blankets from enthusiastic students, faculty, and staff across the university. This collective initiative spread the joy of giving and sharing, resonating among everyone throughout the campus.

On 26th December 2024, these collected items, in addition to warm clothing from the university grant, including an impressive amount of new cozy blankets, were transported to Sreemangal, Moulovibazar, Sylhet by a team of 40+ club members. The distribution event was carried out at Sindurkhan Bagan, South Par, Medical Playground, ensuring that about 1000 vulnerable families facing harsh winter conditions received the much-needed relief.

The Faculty Advisor of the club, Meshbaul Hassan Chowdhury, commended the club members for their unwavering commitment to social welfare, acknowledging their dedication as a key factor in the success of the “Winter Clothing Drive 2024.”

Gratitude was also extended to the North South University authority for their generous contributions, which transformed the event into a memorable celebration of compassion, unity, and community spirit. Through this initiative, the club not only provided essential relief to underprivileged families but also strengthened a sense of connection and support within the community. Last year, the event took place at Dupchacia of Bogura.

North South University Social Services Club started its journey in 1994 as a student organization of North South University with the motif of serving society and encouraging students to develop social responsibilities.
