Dhaka University has formed a seven-member committee to investigate the death of Shahriar Alam Shammo, a student and Chhatra Dal leader who was fatally stabbed on May 13.

Prof Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan will head the committee, which has been asked to submit its report within three working days, according to a DU press release.

The committee includes senior faculty and administrative members, with Assistant Proctor Sharmin Kabir as member-secretary. 

DU authorities have called for a thorough probe into the incident.
