2 BD girls raped in India border

DHAKA: Two young Bangladeshi sisters who crossed the Ichhamati river were raped by two boatmen on their way to North 24-Pargana Sunday, reports Times of India.

Border Security Force (BSF) of India sources said jawans were patrolling the Jhowdanga border post in Swarupnagar on Sunday.

At one stage, they saw the two women aged 18 and 20 years sitting on the banks of the river around 9:00pm and crying.

The girls told the police they were thrown off the boat near the border fencing in Gaighata where the BSF team found the girls and handed them over to Gaighata police after giving them first aid.
Police took the girls to Bongaon sub-divisional where they are currently receiving treatment.
The women were headed for Kolkata, where they had been promised jobs in a beauty parlour by a relative.

The sisters were Monday sent to Bongaon sub-divisional hospital for medical test.
