BRAHMANBARIA:  The rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes halted on Thursday noon as rail line break down in Jatrapur area near to Ashuganj rail station of the district.

The incident took place at 12:00pm.

Ashuganj rail station master Abdullah Faruk told banglanews that following the incident, Dhaka-bound Subarna Express from Chittagong got stranded at Ashuganj Station while Dhaka-bound Kalni Express from Sylhet at Talshahar station and Dhaka-bound Upakul Express from Noakhali remained stuck at Brahmanbaria Express.

The renovation work is underway since 1:00pm. The rail communication will resume within two hours likely, he added.
