DHAKA: Roberto Azevedo, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), congratulated Sheikh Hasina for her re-election as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Assistant Secretary External publicity Wing of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arif Mohammad made the disclosure on Thursday.

The WTO Director General also thanked the Prime Minister for the support of Bangladesh in achieving a successful outcome at the Ninth Ministerial Conference of the WTO in Bali in December, 2013.

In the same message, Roberto Azevedo conveyed   gratefulness of the WTO for Bangladesh’s long-standing commitment to a strong and viable multilateral trading system.

The Director General also expressed his desire to continue and strengthen the relationship with Bangladesh.
