DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of Police submitted charge sheet against eight people including seven students of North South University (NSU) on charge of killing blogger Rajib Haider.
The charge sheet was submitted to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday afternoon.
Sources said, during investigation, police found evidence of the allegation of killing against the accused.
Among the accused, seven were arrested earlier and another remained fugitive.
The accused are Redwanul Azad alias Rana, Faisal Bin Nayeem, 22, Maksudul Hassan, 26, Ehsanur Reza Roman, 23, Nayeem Sikder, 19, Sadman Yeasir Mahmud, 20, and Nasir Imtiaz, 22. All of them were students at the private North South University.
Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani, the terrorist’s group leader Ansarulla Bangla Team, was accused for provoking killing of blogger Rajib.
Ahmed Rajib Haider, a prominent anti-Islamic blogger in Bangladesh, was killed by miscreants while he was leaving his house in the Mirpur area of the capital on the night of February 15, 2013.
His mutilated body was found lying in a pool of blood from the area.
