FROM HOUSE: The first session of the 10th parliament begins on Wednesday evening with the participation of opposition Jatiya Party.
President M Abdul Hamid convened the session on January 13 as per Article 72 (1) of the constitution.
According the constitution, president will address the first session of the parliament. The cabinet has already approved the speech of the president.
As per the rules, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the parliament will be elected in the first working day and the names of the two posts were declared on Tuesday evening.
The tenure of the 9th parliament ended on January 24 while the first session of that parliament sat on January 25 in 2009.
