DHAKA: The government has given approval to appoint some 392 executive magistrates to maintain law-and-order in the upcoming upazila elections.  

Public Administration Ministry gave the approval in response to request of the election commission (EC).  

As per the government order, a total of four executive magistrates will perform duties during the polls in each upazila.  

According to upazila polls schedules, 98 upazila parishad elections in 40 districts will be held on 19 February.
