DHAKA: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resource Ministry Nasrul Hamid categorically said the government would ensure coal and energy policy soon as it had became the prime concern of the ministry.

He made the comments while addressing a discussion with officials of state-owned energy corporation ‘Petro-Bangla’ at it’s office in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

Nasrul Hamid said: “We will formulate an environment-friendly and pro-people coal and energy policy soon as the assumption of coal in power sector will be the key factor for national power producing plan till 2021.”

He also emphasized on fulfilling the consumer’s aspirations in power sector.

Petro-Bangla Chairman Professor Dr M Hossain Monsur moderated the discussion.
