Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri arrives in Dhaka

Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri arrived in Dhaka this morning (December 9) for a significant high-level meeting between the two countries, marking the first of its kind since recent political changes in Bangladesh.

A special Indian Air Force flight brought Misri and other officials to Dhaka airport at around 9 am, according to diplomatic sources.

Misri and Bangladesh's Foreign Secretary Jashim Uddin are set to lead the Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) at a state guest house starting at 11 am.

Later in the day, Misri is scheduled to meet Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna before leaving Dhaka tonight.

The discussions aim to address tensions in bilateral relations that have arisen following the ousting of the Awami League government in a mass uprising on August 5.
