A seven-member commission has been formed to investigate the 2009 Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) carnage in Pilkhana.
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury made the announcement during an event at the BGB headquarters in Dhaka on Monday (Dec 23).
The adviser said that the commission would gather all relevant information, evidence, and documents related to the Pilkhana killings.
He said that the Chief Adviser approved the formation of the commission on Sunday night.
The commission will be headed by former BGB Director General ALM Fazlur Rahman. Its members include two representatives from the armed forces, one senior police officer, a member of the civil service, and two university professors—one from Dhaka University and the other from Jagannath University.
